PROJECTS

FLIPMATA

Flipmata is a public art installation permanently situated on the exterior wall of National Taipei University of Business. The artwork was created through a collaboration among three professionals from different fields: noiz (architect), Kazuhiro Jo (sound artist), and WHYIXD (installation artist). Flipmata combines algorithms and information systems to automatically generate various patterns based on street sounds. According to the algorithm, over 400 stainless steel panels in the installation automatically open and close, organically arranging themselves into various patterns. The reflections of light produced by the panels' movements and the flow of wind reflect the dialogue between the work and its surroundings.

Such a system can inspire and validate the possibility of interaction between people and streets, not only presenting moving architecture but also emphasizing interaction through physical movement.

這個作品與 noiz(建築師)、Kazuhiro Jo(聲音藝術)和 WHYIXD(裝置藝術)三個不同領域的工作者合作。
